I came across a server plugin to run a bank system:

Now players have to be online to /pay ... but would it not be nicer if every player can have a bank account and with a code you can transfer money to another players account? This is possible with the plugin linked to above ... /bank deposit <amount> <name>
Seems to me alike a nice and useful addition to the present server setup. It is compatible with 1.14 so it should work on the now upgraded servers as well.
